My girlfriends and I were looking for a drivable place in NC to enjoy a weekend away. Cecily had a great intuition of our personalities and planned the most perfect, peaceful weekend in Maggie Valley, NC. We were able to enjoy some time outside hiking the Soco Falls and ordered delicious drinks on the patio of BearWaters Brewing Co. From an arrival picnic on the Blue Ridge Parkway, to cozying up by the fire with a glass of wine and a good game night, it was the best weekend! Thank you, Cecily! This trip was just what we all needed!

Jen - New Orleans, LA 2017

My girlfriends and fellow bridesmaids were looking to plan a fun bachelorette trip in one of the bride’s favorite cities, New Orleans. Melissa planned us a trip to remember. It was the perfect mix of sightseeing, relaxing, delicious eats and bar hopping to unique spots. The trip was kicked off with beignets at the world famous Cafe Du Monde and the rest of the trip was just as sweet. From a private burlesque class, delicious Mexican cuisine at El Gato, walks through historic NOLA, drinks at the Carousel bar, karaoke and of course Burbon Street there was never a dull moment. Our last day included a yummy brunch followed by relaxing at a private pool party..such a great way to wrap up our weekend. Thanks to Melissa this was a trip we all reminisce on still today.

Cecily and Melissa planned my bachelorette in NYC, and it was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. I believe that major moments in our lives shape who we are and define our friendships; this was definitely a core memory trip. Cecily and Melissa tailored the entire weekend around things that I love to do and the people I love to be around. The whole weekend was simply a dream, from the hotel in the center of the city to the meticulously scheduled events and plans. We ate cookie dough at a trendy pop-up shop, I got to jump around in a boob-themed bounce house, and we went to a local bar that specializes in Harry Potter-themed drinks (sorting hat included!) I am not one for heavy drinking and wild nights out on the town, so a bachelorette weekend didn’t quite seem like something I needed. However, Cecily and Melissa quickly proved that a bachelorette weekend tailored to who I am and what I love was exactly what I needed! It was beyond my wildest dreams, from seeing Waitress the Musical together, eating the most delicious food, to making customized lipsticks for the wedding day. Cecily and Melissa have planning trips down to an artful science; love peloton classes or themed private karaoke rooms? If you love something, they will figure out how to incorporate that into your trip. All I can say is that my besties made this gay girl’s heart soar high for an entirely magical weekend. It was everything I didn’t know I needed, and I felt nothing but loved and celebrated to my core the entire time.

Gini - Puerto Vallarta, MX 2021

Cecily organized and planned a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for about 40 people. Although only 10 or so people ended up going due to the pandemic, it was the most amazing trip ever! The resort she picked was flawless, the activities were ones I would have never picked for myself, and the food was divine! Everyone had a blast, and there was still plenty of time for relaxing by the pool!

Las Vegas has always been a must do trip for me. So when I found out my first trip there was going to be planned by Melissa, I knew it would be an epic trip! Every option was looked at carefully and the itinerary was fit to the needs of all of us. From a day party at a private cabana , to fresh blowouts and a night out on the strip, our first day was seamless. We also spent a fun day in old Vegas visiting the iconic Golden Nugget casino and even zip lining over Freemont Street. My trip to Vegas was a memorable one for sure, thanks to the planned perfection by Melissa.

Nikki - Las Vegas, NV 2018

Cecily planned the perfect girls weekend getaway to Richmond, VA. We stayed in the cutest area with local restaurants within walking distance, she then planned a day full of breweries, a great lunch spot that I highly recommend, and a delicious dessert cafe to follow up. Could not have been more happy with how wonderful the weekend turned out.

Melissa planned a winter bachelorette party in Key West for us. From the beginning, her organization and attention to detail ensured we were prepared for a fun-packed weekend. After talking with our group to see what our interests were, she set up dinner reservations and bike rentals. The restaurants she chose for us were outstanding from ambiance (she knew when to schedule sunset dinners at the perfect time) to cuisine! Additionally, her perfectly-curated itinerary provided maps, menus, a cost guide, and a variety of options for everyone to enjoy. Our trip was seamless from arrival to departure. I often refer back to Melissa’s itinerary and try to emulate it when planning my own trips, but no one does it quite like her. I will no doubt be using Travel Like A Type A for my future vacations!

A few years ago, Melissa and I met in New Orleans for a mutual friend's bachelorette. Melissa, always being one step ahead of the game, strategically planned for us to arrive a day early to have time in the city before all the craziness began. Once we landed in NOLA, we hit the ground running! Melissa put together a list of wonderful restaurants to choose from and we both agreed on traditional Po Boys for lunch. In addition, she included Cafe du Monde to end our day on a sweet note. Having a predetermined list of restaurants to choose from helped us to be efficient and maximize our time on our day in NOLA. There is no doubt that some of these planned trips were helping to lay the groundwork for the brainchild of TLATA!
